We have all heard that there is a perfect song for every mood. Music transcends all boundaries and connects people from various cultures and backgrounds, in profound and meaningful ways. Researchers have recently studied the effects of singing in a choir and unsurprisingly, it has been shown to boost the release of our ‘feel good’ endorphins and levels of serotonin. Performing live is also said to stimulate adrenaline and help to improve our immune system (reducing Cortisol), vitality, and posture.

Our Musical Director is a firm believer in the power of music; particularly its power to unite people of all backgrounds. The Poringland Singers are an exciting and dynamic mixed-voice choir, established for over 35 years, based in the village of Poringland to the South of Norwich.

Singing a wide range of music, from popular classics and sacred music to contemporary songs and favourites from stage and screen, we perform concerts in venues throughout East Anglia.

We also support charitable causes, such as the East Anglian Children’s Hospices (EACH) based in the neighbouring village of Framingham Earl.

We rehearse on Tuesday evenings at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church in Poringland.
